Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement that invites Christians to pray during the days between Ascension Day and Pentecost, for more people to come to know the love and peace of Jesus. Specifically, we are encouraged to pray for five people that we know.
But how do we pray? There are many aids that can help us and Thy Kingdom Come have produced some very useful resources. Here are some of our favourites:
The Prayer Journal This has 11 days of poignant reflections, Bible verses and actions, and features artwork from Charlie Mackesy.
A Novena – Short reflection reflections and prayers for nine days between Ascension and Pentecost.
The Thy Kingdom Come App which can be freely downloaded on both Apple and Android. It has daily videos, bible readings, reflections, and podcasts from N.T Wright.
The Digital Prayer Family Adventure Map The map works alongside an augmented reality app, which features feature daily games and videos, is available for smartphones and tablets, on both Apple and Android. Here is an introduction from the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby and CBBC presenter, Gemma Hunt:
Thy Kingdom Come is an ecumenical initiative and our members are invited to join people from across Greater Manchester in a 24/7 online prayer room. Churches Together in Cheadle Hulme is going to host an hour of prayer during Thy Kingdom Come. Please check back for confirmed details of when this is taking place.
