Remembrance Day Service - Sunday 11 November
All Saints Church is holding a special Remembrance Day service at 3.30pm on 11 November to commemorate the end of World War One.
The service will include prose (recollections of the war from some of those who were involved) and poetry as well as traditional hymns and prayers. We have ordered some of the perspex silhouettes as part of the “There but not there” project and these together with projected images on the church walls will, we hope, add a moving visual addition to the service. This Remembrance Day service replaces our usual Evensong on Sunday 11 November. If you have an interest in First World War history, our Men's Society Meeting on Thursday 1 November at 7.30pm will mark the end of the Great War with a talk from Peter Bacon about a poignant trip to the World War 1 battlefields. Everyone is welcome (you don't have to be a man to go along). The event is in the church meeting room.
