Operation Christmas Child

You are invited to bring love and joy into the lives of deprived children this Christmas by packing a shoebox of simple gifts.

Toys, stationery, soaps, hats, scarves, and gloves are suggested by the organisers, the charity, Samaritan's Purse. However, you can chose what to include as long as it is appropriate for the recipient (and on the acceptable gifts list. Please note you should no longer include sweets, chocolate or liquids and lotions).

To see what a difference your shoebox could make watch this video of Rebeca's story:

You can decide to pack a box with gifts for a girl or a boy from the ages of 2 to 14 years old. You can add a personal note and photo of your family as well. The charity asks that you also enclose a £5 donation which covers the cost of shipping and distribution.

If you don't have a shoebox to hand, don't worry, there are pre-printed ones available at All Saints for 50p. The church volunteer knitters have also made some items which you can add to your box for free.

You will need an OCC leaflet for each box you pack as the leaflet contains not only
advice on suitable contents (permitted by import regulations) but also a label for your
box and details of how to make your donation towards transport costs.

The deadline for bringing your completed boxes back to All Saints is Sunday 10 November. Why not come and present your family's at the start of the service on that Sunday? Or you can leave it in the church any time up to that day. Our boxes will then be taken to a local Operation Christmas Child drop off point and then distributed to young people in more than 100 countries worldwide.
