Coronavirus update

To keep us all safe, our Churchwardens are keeping a close eye on Diocesan and Church of England guidance and advice from the Government. We will provide any updates on this page:

Starting on Sunday 6 December, we'll hold a Parish Communion service at 10 am every Sunday (except Sunday 27 December) and the church will be open for private prayer every Wednesday between 10 and 11 am.

Updated Friday 6 November

During this second lockdown we are not able to hold any services. However, all are welcome to pray, reflect or just enjoy some quiet time at All Saints on a Sunday between 10 and 11 am and on a Wednesday between 10 and 11 am.

Seating has been measured for social distancing and will be one (or one couple household) on each pew in use, with pews in between left vacant.

Hand gel and disposable face masks will be available at the church entrance. Please bring your own if you have them.

A note about the Annual Parochial Church Meeting from PCC Vice Chair, Jeremy Valentine

Our APCM was originally scheduled for 26 April 2020. Due to the present situation, we are, of course, not able to hold our meeting on this day. So, the APCM is postponed until we are able to set a date when we can all meet in church again. At present we do not know when that is likely to be however, we will update everyone about a new date as soon as we can.

Until then, things will remain as they are at present, with our Churchwardens and PCC members all being able to stay in office until our APCM can be held.

Update from Saturday 4 April

As we can't meet together in church this Palm Sunday, Rev Janet Owens has recorded a special sermon for us which is available to listen to on this website.

Across Cheadle Hulme, other clergy will be doing reflections for Holy Week and Easter for Churches Together in Cheadle Hulme. You can find the details on their Easter page

Update from Monday 23 March

Following tonight's announcement by the Prime Minister, and with enormous regret, we have taken the decision to close All Saints for the forseeable future.

Our church is much more than a building; we are a community. We will continue to be there to support each other and our neighbours in Cheadle Hulme.

We are also exploring different ways to keep sharing worship and prayer together. Keep an eye on this page and our Facebook page for updates.

Update from Thursday 19 March

We are beginning to set up a Coronavirus support network at the church, so if you know anyone who needs shopping; prayers or simply a conversation please call Rev Janet Owens on 0161 312 4683 or our Churchwardens Janet Ashman 0161 485 7969 and John Ackerley 0161 486 1419.

Rev Janet has this morning sent an email to everyone who is on our distribution list. You can read it here. If you would like to be added to the email recipients for All Saints please send an email to (You can, of course, unsubscribe at any time)

Update from Tuesday 17 March

Following the advice of the Church of England this lunchtime, we have cancelled all our public worship and services until further notice. We hope to continue to open our church for prayer, and are exploring ways to keep in contact with our members and our community. Keep an eye on this page for more news over the coming days...

Update from Monday 16 March

As a result of the government announcement today (16 March), all church activities are suspended until further notice. This includes our community and social groups, choir practice and children's and family activities.

The Churches Together in Cheadle Hulme Lent Lunch that we were hosting on Saturday 21 March is also cancelled.

However, our services will continue to go ahead and our church will remain open for private prayer on Tuesdays from 10 am to 2 pm.

Update from Sunday 15 March

We will be taking the following extra precautions at services at All Saints from Sunday 15 March for the foreseeable future.

  • We will take communion in 'one kind' only i.e. communicants will be offered the wafer
  • We will not 'share the peace' with handshakes or hugs
  • Hand sanitiser will be available on entry to the church

At this uncertain time, we will need to look out for fellow members of the All Saints community and our neighbours. If you have particular concerns for yourself or someone else and need help, you can contact our Churchwardens Janet Ashman (0161 485 7969) or John Ackerley (0161 486 1419).

We pray for those who have been affected by the virus and their families, and also for the healthcare professionals and others who are working to keep us safe.
