The mince pies are baking, the mulled wine is bubbling and Santa's sleigh has been spotted in Station Road. It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!
You are invited to get the festive season underway with a visit to the All Saints Christmas Fair on Saturday 24 November from 10.30 to 1.30pm at the Parish Rooms.
We'll have all the usual craft and festive gift stalls, a raffle and a chocolate tombola and the ever popular bric-a-brac where you can browse for a bargain.
Our brilliant volunteer bakers will have homemade cakes to take away but you won't go hungry at the event as from 11.30 am you can enjoy a bacon butty with your glass of mulled wine.
On arrival young visitors can make an appointment to see Santa Claus, who is interrupting his hectic seasonal schedule to be with us for a couple of hours from 11 am.
There will also be a family-friendly Messy Church session going on.
Tickets for over 18s are just £1 (children get in for free.) This includes a cup of coffee or tea or a glass of squash. You don't have to buy in advance - just come along on the day.
All proceeds from the Christmas Fair will be divided between our chosen three charities of the year - Coffee 4 Craig, which tackles local homelessness, the National Autistic Society in the North West and Water Aid.
If you can't make it on November 24 but would still like to help, then gifts of cakes and preserves would be gratefully received. Contact Glenys on email for more details. You can also drop off contributions of books, bric-a-brac and bottles (alcoholic and not) at the church any time it is open. Thank you.
